A Tourism Signposting Event held on Wednesday 6 February at Clydebank College was deemed a success in helping to raise further awareness amongst local tourism businesses with regards to opportunities available to them to help with recruitment and retention issues. The event, organised through the Dunbartonshire Tourism Alliance, focused on a recruitment and careers signposting session for jobseekers in the morning with over 80 delegates utilising the opportunity to meet local businesses actively recruiting as well as finding out more about developing a career in the tourism and hospitality sector.
The afternoon session provided businesses with the opportunity to peruse the exhibitors' arena as well as attending a selection of seminars focusing on local training initiatives for staff; advice on e-business and marketing opportunities; as well as information on VisitScotland's accreditation schemes.
A spectacular lunch was provided courtesy of trainees undertaking the enhanced Chef programme in partnership with Clydebank College, whilst a formal launch of the Tourism Alliance website was unveiled.
The Dunbartonshire Tourism Alliance would like to take this opportunity to thank all partners for their time and contribution in the run up to the event; the team at Clydebank College for hosting the day as well as the students for helping the event to run smoothly; Nomad Associates for their assistance in the marketing and promotion of the event and finally, the delegates for taking the time to attend. We hope you found the day worthwhile.
